In doing so, his texts changed to the soulful, ballad-like. He felt more mature and began to incorporate influences from Arabic music into his songs. In 2010 the video wing appeared on on YouTube, which made Mudi known to a larger audience. Mudi got a contract with the label The Royals, which Hamudi had founded. Mudi wrote lyrics and rapped on beats from his cousin, which he posted on YouTube. He wrote his first song for his mother.Īt the age of 15 he was supported by his cousin Hamudi, who later co-produced albums such as therapy based on the album by Raf Camora or Rebell for no reason by Prince Pi. When he realized that he could better express feelings in songs, he wrote his first lyrics. Mudi came to music through artists like Bushido and Kool Savas. Mudi grew up in Berlin-Schöneberg as the son of a Kurdish father from Turkey and an Arab mother from Lebanon who fled to Germany as a result of the Lebanese civil war.
